How To Receive Grants

Grants from Quesnel Community Foundation are intended to support projects that benefit local area residents, provide a service to the community or take a new or innovative approach to needs and concerns within the North Cariboo region.

We fund projects in the areas of Arts, Education,  Environment, Recreation and Social Programs - take a look at the Funded Projects page for details of projects we have funded since our Endowment Fund was initiated in 2001.

For information on the Foundation and the granting process, please read the Frequently Asked Questions on the FAQ tab.

To apply for a grant:

  1. Read through ALL of the materials below.
  2. If you feel your project may qualify for a grant, submit a Project Proposal. This must be received electronically.  If you need assistance, please contact us via e-mail, quesnelcommunityfoundation@gmail.com
  3. Your Project Proposal will be reviewed by the Grants Committee within a few weeks of the due date. All proposals will receive a reply.
  4. A more detailed application will be sent to groups who submit qualifying projects.  Should your project reach the second round, an example of the application we would require is provided below (Sample Application).  In addition, if your  organization is not a registered charity it is recommended that you contact the City of Quesnel at this stage, who may be able to assist you in qualifying for funding by acting as an intermediary in accordance with CRA rules.  To be eligible, your organization will be required to enter into an agreement with the City who will receive, administer, and distribute QCF grant funding to your organization under the terms of the agreement.
  5. Grants will be awarded at the Awards Evening held in the Spring of each year, separately from our Gala event.
